So I am back with another blog😊with the same topicšŸ˜…that is Kaimur Hills but with something different about itšŸ˜†. This blog is only about the temples šŸ• or I should say ancient temples that are located in Kaimur range.

MUNDESHWARI DEVI TEMPLE

This temple is considered as the 'oldest functional ' temple of the world as the ritual here have been performed without 9a break.

Maa Mundeshwari Devi Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and Shakti and is positioned in the Mundeshwari Hills. The temple also has deities of Ganesha, Surya and Vishnu. The temple is built in Niagara style of temple architecture.

Even great historian ā€˜Alexander Cunningham’ has mentioned about Mundeshwari Temple and its historical value in one of his book.

The temple is build of stone on an octagonal plane. It is a very rare kind of structure. Its entrance has door jambs with carvings of Ganga and Yamuna.

The present condition of the temple is not very acceptable as it’s been repeatedly destroyed at different times by different rulers.

SIDDHANATH TEMPLE

A fine specimen of early medieval times, the temple is a perfect illustration of Brahminic culture and Indo Nagara style architecture. The entire temple is ornamented with figures and mural art paintings. Its unique feature is a frieze of elephants carved upon a stone slab at its outer perimeter. There is a cluster of Hindu and Jain temples, all remarkable for their skillful use of varied architectural modes. It is a 13th century temple.

It is a preserved ancient structure which is situated on a small plateau on the Mandhata island. This temple was attacked by Mahmud of Ghazni but it still stands tall symbolizing its strength.Ā

The detailed carvings on the pillars and walls of the temple represent its spiritual value, as well as, rich architecture. With its unique architectural beauty, it is counted among the major Omkareshwar tourist places.

So these were the famous temples in kaimur that you can visit. There are many more but these were the ones that are unique and ancient and you should obviously visit them to refresh yourself!
