Kaimur Hillsā°, also called kaimur range, eastern part of the Vindhya Range, starting Katangi in the Jabalpur District of Madhya Pradesh. The range has a distinctive jagged appearance with metamorphic rock formation and upheaved rock stratašŖØ. The ruined forts of Rohtasš is situated in these hills and archeological explorations have uncovered well- preserved prehistoric rock art and painting in caves and sheltered areas in Biharš.
There are many tourists š attraction places in Kaimur. One of which is Kaimur Wildlife Sanctuary which was established in 1982. It is biggest wildlife sanctuary in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. A tourist can cover a lot of exquisite sightseeing while traveling through this place. The climate in the sanctuary during the summerš is incredibly sweltering. During summer, the temperature fluctuates from 27 to 45 degree Celsius. However winterāØļø are quiet cooler here. Temperature generally hover in the range from 6 to 26 degree Celsius. Monsoonsā stay here from June to August.
Among the most significant animals that one can locate here includes the TigeršÆ, Wild Bearš¾, Leopardš, Jackal, š±Wolf, different types of Wild Cats, Mongoose, Porcupine, Wild Dogs, Rabbitsš, Ratal,𦨠Peafowls, etc. Different types of deer found here include the Sambhar, Chital, Chinkara, Blue Bull or Nilgai, and more. The Black Buck is an endangered species of Indian antelopes that are found here.There are different types of reptiles that exist in this region like Cobrasš, Crocodilesš, Kraits,and different kinds of other snakes.
Along with the animals, the Kaimur Sanctuary is a place for a wide variety of vegetation. This region has a thick covering of mosaic prairie, tropical dry deciduous š“backwoods, and swampy bogsš.The plants found here include Salai (BoswelliaSerrata),Siddha, Indian Rosewood (Sheesham), Jamun, Teak, Koraiya,Saal, and Jheengarare some species of plant life. š»
The Kaimur district inĀ BiharĀ is a known haven for beautiful waterfalls šand even ancient temples (if that interests you). A drive along NH-30 and to the Kaimur hills will usher you to a quaint waterfall named Karkat that spills beautifully into the natural reservoir below.š
It lies along the KaimurĀ mountainĀ range and there are numerous waterfalls beautifying the precincts of the wildlife sanctuary.š” Therefore, having a tryst with the wild inhabitants is very natural for anyone visiting the Karkat waterfalls.š
Another tourist attraction frequented by tourists is the Telhar pond-waterfall located on Bhabua - Audhora Road in Kaimur. It is as high as 80 mš, and this fact is reason enough to be a thrillš„ for the beholder. The waterfall is enclosed by green, picturesque hills and a forest.Ā
